Yaffa Garber Tilles, LICSW, PMH-C

Founding Partner

Yaffa is a psychotherapist specializing in supporting people coping with fertility challenges, pregnancy and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, and the whirlwind of parenting! She lives in Newton with her husband and three rambunctious sons.

Shira Garber Strosberg, CD (DONA)

Founding Partner

Shira is a certified birth doula, childbirth educator and draws from over 15 years in the field of education…working with parents, listening to their hopes, questions and concerns and helping them to chart a course forward for their families. Shira lives in Newton with her husband and three sons.

Elazar Waldman

Group Leader

Elazar is a clinical social worker with a strong background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).  Elazar lives in Newton with his wife and 3 children.  His personal experiences as a parent fuel his passion for promoting healthy relationships and supporting families, and he's thrilled to offer a Dad's Group for the Boston Birth Village!

Roz Garber Toledano

Group Leader

Roz is grandmother to 12, former business executive and educator.  She has a long list of accomplishments but none are as important to her as her incredible offspring! Roz is excited to lead the Grandparent's Workshop for the Boston Birth Village and hopes to share what she has learned from her 14 years in this role.

Rena Needle

Group Leader

Rena Needle is a Registered Dietitian and health coach with a Masters in Public Health from New York University. Her expertise and passion is in pre- and post-natal nutrition and wellness. Most recently, she worked for Kaiser Permanente's division of research in Northern California as a dietitian, helping motivate pregnant women to eat healthy and exercise through an innovative randomized controlled trial. Rena is a certified yoga instructor with ten years of experience teaching private, corporate, and pre-/post-natal yoga classes. She is also the lucky mom of three children.

Emily Isman

Postpartum Doula

Emily Isman (she/her) resides in Newton with her partner and three kids - 8, 6 & 4 years old!  Emily is passionate about helping new families smoothly reenter the world with their new bundle of joy. Emily can provide postpartum families with emotional recovery from childbirth, infant soothing and sleep, infant feeding and bathing, house work & preparing meals. Along with Emily's personal experience, she is also trained by DONA International Approved Workshop. Emily graduated with a degree in Communications from UMass Amherst and is an LGBTQ+ ally and advocate.
